the oddest thing happened the other night at book club. for some reason we were talking about toys of our childhood. Someone said, “remember the monchichi?” and before i knew it, i blurted out the entire commercial jingle of the monchichi song.
it was slightly distubing. i did not have a monchichi as a child, so i have no idea why the song would stick in my head.
a couple of mintues later someone else said “what about jem?” once again, i was overcome by irresistable advertising. How is it possible that i remember the commercial jingles to things from 20 years ago? too bad there isn’t a game show for retainging such useless information.
so, i want you to test me. name some toys or products of the 80’s and 90’s and we’ll see what happens!
Hey, you stole my line! I am the collector of potentially useless information! LOL ok, so here let us play…
Who had a skate key on their person at all times?
Who was Rainbow Bright’s archnemesis?
What song does Kermit sing to close the Muppet Movie?
There was a cartoon about a Rubic’s cube… do you remember the song?
In the TV show Head of the Class who played the teacher?
What TV show made Rick Shroder famous?
Who played the maid on gimmie a break?
I could play this game all day!
“my buddy” and “kid sister”
“pj sparkles” “popple” “she-ra and He-man”
Haahaaha! I’m pretty sure I had a monchichi…..the picture looks so familiar (maybe it’s just the marketing again).
Brooke, you’re cracking me up!
You should google “80’s toys” and you will get pages and pages of memories.
I was looking through my bin of dolls and I had forgotten all about “Pretty Cut and Grow.” Do you know that theme song? I do! I do not know why I still have them but I can’t bear to part with them.
Jem is truly outrageous, truly truly truly outrageous! That one even reached England! We haven’t got that familiar yet in our book club!!
